Kampus Merdeka Bank Indonesia (KMBI), what’s that?

In this article, i want to tell you about my second internship and my dream internship 🥹. Fyi, I tried 3 times to apply for this internship. If you interested to join KMBI, stay tuned!!

What is KMBI? 🤔

KMBI (Kampus Merdeka Bank Indonesia) is an internship at Bank Indonesia, central bank of Indonesia. Bank Indonesia cooperate with Ministry of Education invited the next leader of Indonesia who interested about central bank. Bank Indonesia open opportunities for university student to do internship maximum 2 semesters. Don’t miss the opportunities! 👏

What are the requirements and where can we register? 🤔

We can register only on Kampus Merdeka website. You can read the specific requirements and documents on Kampus Merdeka website here and KMBI’s Instagrams here

1. University student from any major who on min 5th semester with minimum GPA 3.00/4.00
2. Document requirements such as CV, recommendations letter, and many more
3. Have a knowledge about research and projects

Fyi, Curriculum Vitae (CV) for KMBI little bit different form other CV. KMBI recruitment team will send you an email if you fit the requirements contains CV format and more details about the selection process.

What are the selection stages at KMBI? 🤔

(In this section will be long story, so prepare your notes and popcorn 😂)

• Administration selection

The required documents are approximately the same as the internship documents required in the Kampus Merdeka program such as current transcripts, identity card, and CV. Like I mentioned before, KMBI’s CV format little bit different from other CV. You can download the form after KMBI teams contact you via email.

💡Tips💡

On KMBI’s CV, you must filled your research experiences, project experiences, and your organization experiences. If think you don’t have any experience at all, you can mentioned your research or project assignments on your college. But make sure there are your original research and you can tell the interviewer about your project 😍

• Interview

After wait 2 weeks from I received email to filled KMBI’s CV, KMBI team send me an email about i passed the administration selection and i have an interview session for the next stage. Fyi, not at all participants who passed the administration selection get an interview session. It depends on your work unit you choose in your KMBI’s CV.

The interviewer’s questions is much about your research/project experience that you’re mentioned on CV, technical tools you usually use (as data analyst like SPSS, R studio, Python, and many more) and little bit about economics.

💡Tips💡

Make sure you know about your research and project you mentioned 🥲. Because the interviewers is your mentor during your internship on KMBI’s program. So draw their attention by you smoothly explaining the research problem, why take the research, the method, and the results of the research. You can also read about the role of Bank Indonesia and current economic issues.

• On board

If you passed all the selection, you will got offering notice form Kampus Merdeka website via email. You have 3 days to take or leave the offering. After you take the offering, KMBI team will be invite you to WhatsApp group and filled form. After all participants who passed the selection join the group, KMBI team will send document which contains about your placement.

Note, you must agree to be placed in all Bank Indonesia offices in need in Indonesia. Don’t worry, your transport from your home province to placement’s province are covered by Bank Indonesia. But daily necessities and places to live during the internship are not covered. You can use your salary 😍

So what we doing here?🤔

• Learning

Not just working, we can get learning sessions during the internship. We are learn about central bank, economics, leadership, public speaking, and many more skills you can use on your next careers. We also got several evaluations like test and projects, and the results will be Is referred to the apprentice assessment.

• Working Experience

BI is one of the most important agencies in Indonesia. So there is a lot of work experience that you can get there. You can participate to their real project that impacts many people, meet many important people who play a role in government, join many amazing big event in Indonesia, and many more. The most memorable memories that i have is i meet Tantowi Yahya in Bank Indonesia Bali at their event to appreciate Bali respondent.
